Kalamazoo College Scholarships
In addition to merit scholarships, Kalamazoo College offers several other scholarships for incoming students. Some scholarships may require an additional application or other steps. Additional information on these scholarships can be found below:
Fine Arts Scholarships
Fine Arts Scholarships are awarded to those prospective admitted students who show outstanding talent and/or achievements in visual art (all mediums), music (all types) or theatre (acting or tech/design). Recipients receive a $5,000 tuition-specific scholarship (renewable for up to four years). Recipients do not need to major or minor in the arts to be eligible for this scholarship. Global Leadership Scholarships
Kalamazoo College awards a limited number of full-tuition Global Leadership Scholarships (GLS) to incoming first-year international students. Scholarships are awarded based on academic merit and are renewed all four years, based on the current cost of attendance.
To be eligible for consideration, students must apply for admission by November 1 under either the Early Decision or Early Action application programs. In addition to submitting the Common App and test scores (if applicable), students must complete an in-person or virtual admission interview to be eligible for the GLS.
The Global Leadership Scholarship will be applied toward the cost of tuition. Recipients of the GLS are not eligible for additional merit scholarships from Kalamazoo College. However, they may be eligible for additional need-based aid if they submit the International Student Financial Aid Application along with their Common App and all supporting documents by the November 1 deadline.
K Tradition Scholarships
These scholarships are for students who have one grandparent, parent, step-parent or legal guardian as an alum of Kalamazoo College. This award is open to first-year, transfer and international applicants.

Kalamazoo Promise
Kalamazoo College is a proud partner of the Kalamazoo Promise Scholarship for students who graduate from Kalamazoo Public Schools. Eligibility is determined by the Kalamazoo Promise program office and rosters are sent to Kalamazoo College. Promise-eligible students are not eligible to receive merit scholarship aid from the College in addition to the Promise award; the level of tuition support is dependent on the qualifying years of eligibility under the terms of the Promise. Bearcat Advantage
Kalamazoo College is a proud partner of the Bearcat Advantage program for students who graduate from Battle Creek Public Schools. Students who are eligible for the Bearcat Advantage are not eligible to receive merit scholarship aid from the College. The level of tuition support is dependent on the qualifying years of eligibility under the terms of the Bearcat Advantage. For program details, please review the Bearcat Advantage website.

Heyl Scholarships
The Heyl Scholarship is a competitive scholarship open to high school students from Kalamazoo Public Schools who are interested in beginning their careers in STEM at Kalamazoo College. Scholars selected for the program are awarded a scholarship for tuition, mandatory fees, room, and a book allowance. Scholars are required to ultimately pursue a major in the natural sciences at Kalamazoo College. For full program details, please see the Heyl Scholarship website.
National Merit Scholarships
National Merit Finalists who select Kalamazoo College as their first choice are eligible for a $2,000 renewable scholarship or a $2,500 one-time scholarship. Please consult the National Merit Scholarship Program website for additional information on eligibility and requirements.
